Probably a Chinese Beauty Rat Snake, seen at Shapoyu in Hebei.
I almost ran into this snake (no idea why my photo cut his head out - probably I was still a bit shocked.
Of course the human animal can be found at the Great Wall as well and is always worthy of observation.
What are these guys looking for?

I was told that they collected these animals for their dinner but they could be used for TCM as well.
The last photo does not show a scorpion but the left molt of it.
