Yanqing County is home to the most-visited Great Wall location of all, Badaling, as well as many kilometers of highly varied Great Wall that provide excellent opportunities for walking and exploring. Much of this area is easily accessible due to an expressway that runs from the city of Beijing all the way to Zhangjiakou. Yanqing County has an area of 1,992 square kilometers (769 square miles) and is home to just under half a million people.
